Melbourne Piano Tuning

We know everything about tuning pianos.

We don’t know who is the prime minister. Or how much a coffee in South Yarra costs.

But we tell you which month Boesendorfer was made offical piano maker of the Emperor of Austria. Or the how to calculate absolute frequencies in 12 tone equal temperate tuning.

Locally born and bred, Melbourne Piano Tuning strives to bring reliable piano tuning and repairs to Melbourne and surrounding suburbs.

Melbourne is the most liveable city in the world – filled to the brim with arts and culture. It’s our honour to be able to provide affordable piano tuning for all pianists – professional, practising or just weekend players.

Frequently Asked Questions

How much does piano tuning cost?

A standard piano tune in Melbourne usually costs around $180-$200. However, because every job is different, we need to take into account the type of tuning required, distance to job etc. To make sure you get the best price for you situation give us a call or leave some details on our quote page.

Which areas do you service?

Melbourne Piano Tuning services all suburbs of the Greater Melbourne area! That’s way too many to list here! Unsure if you’re inside the boundaries? Leave your suburb in our quote form or give us a call.

How long does piano tuning take?

A standard piano tuning will take about 1-1.5 hours.

How often does my piano need to be tuned?

While new pianos can go out of tune quite quickly, a rule of thumb for owners of older pianos is to have piano tuning done once every year. If your piano hasn’t been tuned that often, don’t worry – it likely won’t cause any lasting damage.

I have an old piano. Will it cost extra to tune?

If the piano has not been tuned for a long time, our piano tuners may need to ‘pitch raise’ to get the piano in the ballpark before a fine-tune. This may cost slightly more but we’ll make sure to let you know on the phone if we think this is needed. We hate price surprises!
